Yes, you can import either TMX or tab-delimited translation memory entries or glossaries. Usually there are no hitches.

How about tab-delimited glossaries from WordFast, I wonder?
Anyway such approach will require some idioglossary because terms cannot be out of context.

I would buy the Mac version of this software in a New York minute and come mow your lawn as well! Like Laurent, I’m not into the virtual machine approach and would like to keep Windows out of my life altogether. And the segmentation approach in OmegaT or other tools also has its limitations. Your approach is exactly what I’m looking for in a translation tool. Please put me on the Mac notification list too.

You can either translate the article as nothing “” by simply pressing Enter with nothing in the list item corresponding to the article, or (more cumbersome, not recommended) you can select both the article and the noun by pressing Ctrl+Shift+Right arrow and then enter the corresponding translation.

You shouldn’t be getting any error message when you translate something as “”. Please send a support request email (from Snowball help) describing the error so we can sort this out.

You stated in the tutorial videos that one can translate from and into any language. I translate also into Polish (form German, Dutch and English). So what about the article (in German: der, die, das)? Snowball asks me to fill something in, but it doesn’t exist in Polish (and many other languages). I agree that I just started with snowball, but I can’t seem to find a solution. And after leaving it without typing anything and clicking ‘enter’ an error message appears. Can you help me on this?

It doesn’t sound like you’re doing anything wrong, but something is definitely wrong if you’re getting an error message. Please click on Help in the Snowball main window and select “Send Support Email” – this will generate a coded message with your settings and will help us figure out what’s going on.

I am just starting out and getting the hang of Snowball but keep getting this error message, which stops me from achieving a decent speed and flow, as I have to reposition the cursor each time with the mouse and start over. What am I doing wrong?
“Object reference not set to an instance of an object”
