As usual: no Mac version available! Do the creators of Snowball think they can go along without taking Mac users into account, or without offering a secured online version?
I wish I could say we’ve already got it, but especially because Snowball is what some have called “a Mac type of program”, we certainly do want to make a Mac version available as soon as possible. I’ll put you on our Mac notification list, but meanwhile, if it’s any consolation, you could buy Snowball plus a decent Windows-based computer for less than the price of some other translation memory tools.

thanks for the fast reply. I am an explorer and always look for alternative solutions in TEnT, and especially such solutions which would avoid the “segment” approach. Mainstream TEnT cannot offer anything else and it is quite frustating and, yes, some of them cost more than a decent PC (I bought mine for some 700 EUR)…
I will try the Lite version on the PC since there is no solution for Mac – at least for the moment.
My main point in my “rant” is that many will migrate to Mac just because they cannot stand PC’s and their interfaces anymore, so basically a virtual machine interface (Parallels or VMWare) is not a solution AFAIAC.

Yes Susan, we do want to have a Linux version, too, but the Mac takes priority – as Laurent points out, translators are migrating, with many holding off only because of the lack of good Mac tools. As a translator myself, I’m also painfully aware of the current situation!
I would buy the Mac version of this software in a New York minute and come mow your lawn as well! Like Laurent, I’m not into the virtual machine approach and would like to keep Windows out of my life altogether. And the segmentation approach in OmegaT or other tools also has its limitations. Your approach is exactly what I’m looking for in a translation tool. Please put me on the Mac notification list too.
